Today marks the anniversary of the death of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin who, as leader of the Bolshevik Party and architect of the first successful workers’ revolution, unleashed upon the world a new kind of tyranny that substituted dynastical despots for proletarian despots.

    I was at first disappointed to see how little you had to say on Lenin. How could you only give him one sentence? But on further reflection I see (or at least I think I do) what you were trying to do. And I can’t argue that your single sentence pretty much nails it.
